***Mini Team Auditions are Saturday, June 7th from 10:30-11:30 AM**
We are so excited to tell you about our new Mini Performing team that will debut this fall led by the amazing Miss KJ. This *BRAND NEW* DA Mini Team is a pre-performing team that provides an opportunity for our young dancers, ages 5-7.5, to learn more advanced dance technique and performance skills through 2 dance classes each week: team and 1 other class of your choice, and they will perform in 1 competition, and the recital. Our Minis will not be dancing in the parades but they will be invited to ride on the trailer and wave :)
Like all of our teams, our new Mini team is by audition only. Tryouts for this team are Saturday, June 7th from 10:30-11:30 AM at Dance Amour.
This dance team will be fun, challenging, and exciting for our young dancers. Like all of our classes, this team maintains high levels of modesty in costume, movement and music. Our goal is to build confidence and skills, and to utilize our talents to strengthen our community, leaving our audience members uplifted. Our mini team will learn skills such as how to engage their muscles correctly, musicality, more challenging choreography, as well as respect, and learning how to encourage each other and work together.
Dance Amour creates a positive, uplifting environment for dancers to reach their highest potential!
This a full year commitment starting with the 24th of July Parade (if they are in town) and ending with the recital next May 2.

What to wear to auditions: Dancers need to wear a leotard and shorts or leggings. Dancers also need to bring a pair of jazz shoes, 1/2 shoes, or ballet shoes. Make sure hair is secured in a ponytail or a bun.
This is a closed audition, meaning no one besides the dancers and the team teachers will be allowed in the dance room.
Dancers do not need to prepare anything in advanced besides getting a good night's sleep and fueling well before they come.
During the audition we start with a warm up, followed by technique in the center and across the floor, demonstrating any tumbling skills, and we will finish by teaching them 1 short dance in jazz for the younger group, and 2 short dances in jazz and lyrical for the older group.
Remember to bring your best attitude and a huge smile :)

What kind of financial commitment am I looking at?
We understand that dance can be expensive. We try our very hardest to keep fees down for our dance families. There is the monthly tuition, as well as competition fees, costume fees, etc.
Can my dancer be on the same team as her sibling or best friend?
We hope that all of our dancers become really good friends. Dance friends are the best friends!
However, we cannot guarantee that dancers will be placed on teams together just because they are siblings or friends. When we make our teams, we take so many things into consideration including: skill, performance ability, showmanship, attitude, height, personalities, flexibility, speed of learning, work ethic, etc.
My dancer can't make the audition. Can he or she still be considered?
Absolutely. Please fill out the form and then let us know that they won't be able to be there. We will be in touch with you to make other audition arrangements if needed.
Do returning team members need to audition?
Yes, we like to see everyone together so we know who would look best together on the same team.
